HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. (Aug. 21, 2014) – It could be too warm to wear a Cliff Huxtable sweater, so maybe you’ll opt for acid wash jean cut-offs.

Welcome to the 2014 edition of the East Petersburg Day 5K, which returns Sept. 13 with a “Totally 1980s” theme.

Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, which has an outpatient physical therapy center in East Petersburg, Wee Care Day School and TCG Advertising & Design are organizing the race.

The race, preceded by a kids fun run and followed by the East Pete Day parade and family-friendly activities, starts and ends at the East Petersburg Fire Hall. Proceeds will benefit the East Petersburg Day Events Committee.

Runners will be eligible for prizes: fastest male and female, top three in each age group, and best dressed.

The cost is $10 for the fun run, which starts at 8:30 a.m., and $20 for the 5K, which begins at 9:15 a.m. For runners in groups of five or more, the cost is $15 per runner. Participants who register by midnight Sept. 2 will receive a race T-shirt.
