Drayer Physical Therapy Institute’s 16th Alabama center opens in Athens

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. (Jan. 5, 2015) – Drayer Physical Therapy Institute has opened a second outpatient physical therapy center in Athens, Ala., and its 16th in the state.

The new center is the result of a strategic partnership with Limestone Community Hospital, to which Drayer will provide outpatient physical therapy services.

“We know the partnership will increase physical therapy resources to the immediate and surrounding communities,” said Tracy Causey, regional vice president.

The new center, at 209 Fitness Way, Suite D, is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and by appointment on Saturdays. It can be reached at 256-233-9148.

The center’s specialties are manual therapy, orthopedics, sports medicine, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, shoulder rehabilitation, aquatics and wellness.

Kevin Steen, physical therapist assistant, who has treated patients in the Athens area for 15 years, is the center manager. Causey and Jay McDiarmid will oversee the center.

Overall, Hummelstown, Pa.-based Drayer owns or manages more than 100 centers in the United States.
