HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. (Aug. 16, 2016) – This 5K race comes to you no matter where you are.

You can run or walk, outside or on a treadmill, at any time Sept. 17-24.

Drayer Physical Therapy Institute is taking a “virtual” approach to this companywide charitable event.

The inaugural “Kickin’ It Old School Virtual 5K” will benefit the nonprofit Good Sports, which promotes the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing equipment, apparel and footwear to those most in need.

Since 2003, Good Sports (goodsports.org) has provided more than $17 million worth of equipment to more than 2,700 youth programs, positively affecting more than 3 million children.

Participants need not be Drayer employees or patients: The race is open to everyone.

“Virtual races are just like traditional races with a shirt, medal, bib, community and fun, but you can run your race wherever you want, with whomever you want,” said Ron Baum, Drayer’s chief operating officer.

Runners can report their times and will have an opportunity to win prizes for best-dressed male and female and largest group.

Race registration is $15, which includes a printable bib. Participants can add a race medal and a race T-shirt for $10 each.
