HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. (Jan. 20, 2015) – To mark American Heart Month in February, Drayer Physical Therapy Institute is offering free cardiovascular screenings to the public.

Thirty-seven Drayer outpatient physical therapy centers in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland are participating in the “Heart Check” event. For a complete list, visit www.drayerpt.com/heart.

“February draws attention to matters of the heart, and not just because of Valentine’s Day,” said Drayer’s Melissa Carman, senior regional vice president. “Together with the American Heart Association, we want to raise awareness of and help to decrease the risk of heart disease.”

Drayer clinicians will evaluate blood pressure, body mass index and waist circumference. They also will analyze participants for risk factors and make exercise recommendations. The screenings are expected to take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Meanwhile, Drayer will share heart-health articles and tips throughout February on its blog, PT in Action, and social media channels.

Based in Hummelstown, Pa., Drayer (www.drayerpt.com) owns or manages more than 100 centers in 15 states. Drayer provides rehabilitation services with a physician’s referral, offering 24-hour access to care.
